HERE'S MY STORY SO FAR.....
I have loved animals since I was born , I think.! My parents got a puppy when I was a baby. Her
name was Princess. She was a border collie mix and we grew up together. She had to endure alot
of experiments and "kid stuff" from me! LOL But always took it in stride. She died when we
were 12 years old. My parents knew that I would be lost with out a dog, so, my brother brought
home a 4 wk old GSD puppy that was too small to get enough to eat. I brought her up with
loving care. Her name was Mitsie. It is with her that the love of the breed was born. She was very
intelligent and trainable and during the course of her life even protected me from dangerous
situations several times. (no formal training) That is also when, the dream of breeding and
making a positive contribution to the breed, took root.
I worked for a top GSD breeder for 3 yrs and then went on to work in an animal hospital for 5
yrs. There I worked my way up from kennel help to kennel manager/veterinary technician.
Which included : surgical assistance and prep, dentals, lab work, radiography, prescriptions,
data entry and client history, etc. I really loved the job and would still be there now if I hadn't
been put in a situation where I had to earn more $$$. I have trained my past dogs in AKC
obedience and agility. Katra my "old" girl got her CD in one weekend. Earning two 2nd places,
one 1st place and high scoring GSD in show!! She was a very special dog. She passed away on
6/24/01. To see a
tribute to her, click here..

I have searched for many years for the "right" dogs. They have very strong ties to German
Champions including almost ALL of the SV's Top 65 Stud dogs of all time!!!.
They have lots of working
drive, yet with loving personalities and are conformationally correct to German standards. All of
my dogs produce excellent working dogs as well as family/pet/protectors. They are doing very
well in Schutzhund training but titling will be slow as I do not have a regular club to train at
and all is being done on a private training schedule.
This is far better to take the time to get things right in schutzhund rather than rush through like so
many German dogs. In my opinion this is the biggest reason why so many German show dogs do not
pass simple bite work tests. Many Germans rush show dogs through only to end up with poorly trained
dogs.

ALL potential outside studs will be screened for top competition worthy working drives AND top conformation
to German Standards as well as a major emphasis on ZW or OFA status, production and background,
tempe
rament, and nerve strength.

I have 36 years of experience with German Shepherd Dogs as well as professional
experience in the animal health field and certification in animal nutrition, combined
with experience in wide variety of training. Including titling my own dog/s in
Schutzhund, AKC obedience and Agility and German show ring training. I have my
own training center - Jasper County K9 where Heather Fuller is the training
director. Through the years I have developed a strong network of friends that have
vast experience and expertise in all areas of showing, training, behaviour problem
solving, breeding and husbandry. All this combined gives you the Castlebrook
Shepherd owner a lifetime of solid support for an enjoyable and happy home for both
you and your Castlebrook German Shepherd Dog I have no large scale plans, and
my pups will be raised in a social and homey environment. That is to
say...they are...
Raised IN my HOME, not a kennel. In this way I can better socialize them and get to
know each one personally from the day they are born. They will be tested for
aptitude, personality, temperament and drive by an outside source, so as to be able to
match puppies to owners. I will have 0-4 litters a year, and will alternate dams, so as
to be able to see how a litter turns out, before repeating a breeding. Prospective
buyers will also be screened for their needs and wants as well as compatibility with
the breed. To see my guarantee and pricing
please go to the "POLICY" page.
I am located in north central Indiana USA, near Lafayette and Purdue University. I
will ship out of  Indianapolis, IN or Chicago, IL.
Please make yourself at home
and enjoy your visit!
